After Sony Ericsson K790i, the K800i is next in the line in the camera centric K series of Ericsson. Both these handset looks similar while differing only in functionality. The K800i boast of embedded 3G technology, which is absent in the junior model. Integrated camera module of both the handsets are identical, so are the imagery tools and aids incorporated in both the models. The handset is aptly given the brand name Cyber Shot - a renowned brand in the field of digital photography. The Sony Ericsson K800i have successfully managed to carry the Cyber Shot tag, delivering everything that the brand promises.
Built wise, the Sony is a simple candy bar handset, devoid of any flashy curve or other loud design element. The casing measures 105 x 47 x 22 mm which is decently compact. Keeping an eye on its 3G capabilities, the mobile phone's weight of 115 grams can be considered as light weight. Currently, the Sony Ericsson K800i is available in two colour solutions - Velvet Black and Allure Brown. The handset's TFT based 2 inch screen, that produces more than 262k colours dominates the front fascia of the device. Primary camera module is mounted on the back of the Sony Ericsson K800i, protected by a lens cover.

Integrated camera module of this Cyber Shot handset is 3.2 megapixel. Together with the Sony Ericsson 790i, which was launched simultaneously, the handset was the first camera phone to break the 3 megapixel barrier. Its designers have incorporated every imagery aid possible. Auto focus, 16x digital zoom, image editor, special effects - the Ericsson K800i has it all. Instead of compromising for a cheap LED flash, its designers have incorporated a full fledged Xenon automatic flash to give you an edge over other camera phones during low light photography. Another noteworthy feature of this 3G camera phone is BestPic. This feature takes a series of nine shots - four before and another four shots after you have clicked, thus you get to choose the best shot among the nine.
